You know what? Why not post the new poster for Iron Man 2? This one will probably deserve all the hype that it’s gonna get, so we might as well document every piece of promo from the film that leaks out there. Here’s the second poster for Iron Man 2, which shows Robert Downey Jr. unmasked and suited up. The film, directed by Jon Favreau, picks up six months after Tony Starks (Downey Jr.) reveals his true identity, with many of the original cast members returning for the sequel. The film stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn. Iron Man 2 Movie Update: New Iron Man 2 Poster Features War Machine

Indeed, on May 7, Iron Man 2 hits theaters. While most fans of the first movie are excited to see Iron Man back in action, they should be warned: he won't be fighting alone this time.

As the following promotional poster makes clear, War Machine (aka Colonel Rhodes, played by Don Cheadle in the sequel) will take flight alongside his friend this spring. Does this make you more or less excited for the film?

Iron Man 2 Behind the Scenes

Set for an April release the second of Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr's Ironman movies has already had a five minute trailer leaked from Comic Con and since has had little official information handed out about the movie.

This clip has interviews with both Robert and Jon about the second movie and talk about how the characters will evolve. It also has a few behind the scenes clips on set around the set of Ironman 2 including the lab where Tony Stark is building his own particle accelerator for some reason.

The clip itself is from a French website canalplub.fr which also hosts the clip but it can be a bit hard to find and watch so here is it.

So far we have seen clips of Ironman in his new suit, Nick Fury and War Machine which wont be played by the original actor Terrence Howard who turned down a part in the sequel.

One thing I noticed in the clip was Jo Favreau's thoughts on sequels and how the sequel is normally better than the first movie and the third movie wont be as good as either of the first two. Which could be a hint that he might not be back to direct the third.

Iron Man 2 in 3D!

'Iron Man 2' Might Be Flying in 3-D

I believe I've had to type 3D more times this week than I have in my Cinematical career thus far, and it's only Wednesday. I'm also seeing the birth of a new trend towards 3D rumor mongering and speculation which I want to say began with The Hobbit, but I would probably be very wrong. But I digress. Today, Ain't It Cool News is reporting that we might see Iron Man 2 converted into 3D.

According to Harry Knowles: "Right now, there is a 1 minute demo of Iron Man 2 converted to high quality digital 3D ... Right now the suits at Marvel & Paramount & now also Disney are considering this 1 minute. At the same time that this is happening, they are fishing for bids with 3 different companies to see what the cost and time it would take to convert Iron Man 2 to a complete 3D film." There's also talk that if they actually pay to convert Iron Man 2 to 3D, they might also do the same to the first Iron Man and rerelease it into theaters next May. Watch Jon Favreau's Twitter to see if this comes true or not.

As Knowles points out, if it does come to pass it would certainly be a game-changer for the upcoming Marvel slate. You might see Captain America, Thor, or The Avengers behind a pair of dorky glasses. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that, as I find the format too distracting to be enjoyable. But it would be a hell of a lot of fun to see Iron Man rereleased in 3D, and revamping an existing film seems better suited to this ongoing novelty than designing a film around some pop-out effects. I seem to be in the cranky minority when it comes to the 3D style though, and those who are enthusiastic for it are certainly winning the war for it.
